Google just launched a brand new exciting feature for GMB, continuing their implementation of AI. This time it’s a pretty big one that aims to increase customer engagement with your profile (which means more business!!!). The new feature is called “Ask for Me” and it will allow users to utilize Google’s AI to call local businesses and ask a question.

How It Works:

If you’re enrolled in Google’s Search Labs, you can start to use this feature for local services like auto repair shops and nail salons. The feature isn’t available for all business types yet, but we expect Google to expand this feature in the future.

You’ll click a button that says “Ask for Me” and then you’ll be prompted to add some details about the service you have a question about. Then Google’s AI will make a call for you and boom - you get an answer without having to take the time to call the business yourself.

On the business owner side of things, you can expect to get these types of calls in the future, especially as more users find the feature. This should result in more engagement with your business which means more customers for you! This is also a great opportunity to give Google’s AI a bunch of useful information about your business.

Ultimately if you want to get more calls, you need to rank in the top 3 of the Google map pack. The best way to do that is to sign up for Paige, our AI automated GMB optimization software. You can start your trial today for only $1!
