What You Need To Know About Google's New Merchant Center

Did you get Google's email with the subject "The new version of Google Merchant Center is here"? If you ignored it (and we know you did), below is what you missed.
If you sell physical products out of your local business, Google now lets you manage your products (tied to your Google Business Profile ones) directly inside the Google Merchant Center. The only reason we can think of why they added this feature inside the Google Merchant Center is because if you're spending more time in the Google Merchant Center you're probably more likely to start spending money on Google ads since the button to do so is pretty prominently displayed there. In case you weren't sure - Google is primarily an ads business ;).
Here's the real takeaway:
Take it as a reminder to add all your products to your Google Business Profile if you haven't already done so since that will help you pick up some local sales when someone searches for those products on Google Search or Google Maps.
