Your Weekly Briefing

What services do you offer?

It's always surprising when we come across a Google Business Profile that doesn't have at least 20 services added, along with SEO-optimized descriptions for each one.

By the end of this newsletter you will know exactly why you need to add at least 20 services to your Google Business Profile and have the motivation to do it today.

Let's pretend you're a dental practice owner for a minute. (Congrats, your parents must be so proud!) When it's 2:30, and someone needs to find a dentist near them (get it.. two thirty sounds like tooth hurty...ok I'm very sorry about that), they search Google Maps for "dental practice". Google knows to show you since your primary category is "dental practice". Easy enough.

But what if the person searched for "emergency dentist" since it's late at night, or "dentist that doesn't require insurance" since they're uninsured, or "wisdom teeth removal" since they already know it's their wisdom teeth coming in? You're not going to appear as an option in the search results unless you inform Google that you offer these services, and the best way to tell Google is to add all variations of what your business provides as services.

You can use keyword research tools like Google Trends & Keyword Planner to think of services to add, or you can use ProfilePro and get a list of them using AI with the click of a button.

Once you add at least 20 services, add descriptions for each one. I know it's annoying and takes time, but that's why you'll win! When things take time to do it's more likely your competitors skipped it, which means it's easier for you to stand out by doing it.

Which do you think will rank better:

Option 1: "Wisdom Teeth Removal" or Option 2: "Wisdom Teeth Removal: at our top-rated Denver dental practice, we offer wisdom teeth removal services to help patients get the smile they want."

Clearly the second option is the winner.

So what are you waiting for?! Go use ProfilePro to get a list of all services, then use it again to generate the best SEO-optimized description for each service. Or, I guess you could do it all manually if you're like all business owners I know and have nothing but time on their hands ;)
