Your Weekly Briefing

You read that Google Business Profile policy email, right? ;)
Give it to me straight! You didn't read the recent email from Google with the subject "We're simplifying our policies and guidelines" did you?
That's OK because we read it front to back and will give you some bullet point takeaways:
You can now see all their Business Profile policies here.
To qualify for a business profile, your business must physically exist where you say it does, and you cannot use a P.O. box to register it. If you have an address on your profile, someone must be there during regular business hours to greet customers and your branding must be on the building. The only new thing about this point is that Google is actually good at enforcing it now.
They want you to pick the fewest business categories possible to accurately portray your business. Their way of describing the best practice is to say "what your business is" not "what your business has". For example, Papa John's should register as "Pizza Delivery" and "Pizza Takeout", not "Delivery Restaurant" or "Takeout Restaurant".
You can now book a meeting with a small business advisor at Google here! For a small fee of $39.99, you can ask a Google small business rep questions about Google Business Profiles, Google Analytics, and other Google tools for SMBs. We'll schedule one and let you know how it goes in a future newsletter.
Aww man, we're in the final month of summer. Bummer! Don't forget to go outside and smell the sweet smell of grass, flowers, and funnel cakes (depending on where you are).

Wish you could respond to a hundred Google reviews across different Google profiles in a personalized way with the click of a button? So do we, which is why we built RoboReply. We just added a free trial plan to make it easier than ever to try it out.

ProfilePro tip of the week:
Think of one question that your ideal customer may wonder about your most important product or service, then ask that question yourself on your Google Business Profile. Then, answer it yourself. Be sure to use important keywords in the process. ProfilePro can do this for you!
