Does Google Like AI Content?

Your reviews aren't Superman, you know.

Let's talk about the customer journey today and why even though 90% of people pick a business based on reviews, your reviews alone are not going to grow your business.

For 90% of people, the customer journey when looking for a local business starts on Google with a search like "SERVICE near me" or "restaurant in CITY." From there, they interact with the top few choices Google displays on Search or Maps and most likely click over to the business with the highest reviews. In some cases, they'll call, book an appointment, or get driving directions right from your Google Business Profile. However, if it's a more complex transaction, they may visit your website for additional information or validation. If needed, they may even email for more information before booking an appointment or purchasing. Typically, the more expensive the service or products you're selling are, the more time a buyer will take to decide, the more research they will do, and the more touch points they'll have with your business.

So, you got them over to your website thanks to your good reviews, but that's not where customers stop judging you! When they visit your website, they'll want it to look modern and have the necessary information. Then, when they want to book an appointment, they'll like it automated through a simple booking tool. Finally, when they exchange emails with you, they'll lose confidence in your business if your business email ends in @gmail.com.

Potential customers judge you throughout the sales cycle. Getting a nice looking website, an appointment booking tool, and a professional email address is easy to do, and can cost as little as $50 per month. Considering businesses spend thousands of dollars monthly on sales and marketing activities, it's worth a few extra dollars to increase conversions.

If you need recommendations for any of these things, get in touch, and we'll be happy to point you in the right direction. Given we work with thousands of small businesses, we keep our ears low to the ground to pick up what works and what doesn't.
