Ranking well on Google locally used to be as simple as buying a bunch of backlinks from other websites and pointing them to your website or Google Business Profile. But times have changed, and Google's algorithms have become more sophisticated. Now, building tons of backlinks is not only ineffective, but it can also harm your ranking. If Google can scan an image and immediately know what it's about, where it was taken, and if it's ever been posted online before, they don't even need to get out of bed to know that the 100 new backlinks that you purchased for $25 are trash.

The Power of High-Quality Backlinks

What Google does like, is high-quality backlinks from high-domain sites and other websites they deem to be authoritative. But how can you get those backlinks? It's quite simple. You can earn them by subscribing to HARO and helping a reporter out when they have a question you're an expert in, buying them from high-quality backlink suppliers (only do DA40+ ones), as well as publishing press releases from time to time about notable stories in your business or industry to generate an authoritative buzz online.

Don't Forget About Google Sheets, Forms, and Sites
